Since graduating high school in 1964 Kathie Adler became interested in photography. Her portrait photos show a keen interest in her subjects and everyone enjoys her photos. She first began using a 35mm camera after getting married in 1972. She braved the ice storm of 1973 in New York and left her apartment in Bayside venturing out into slippery roadways to take photos of the ice storm, photos which could easily have won a photography award. Kathie enjoys taking photos of any kind: children, animals, weddings, although landscapes are not her favorite. Kathie's favorite types of photography are portrait photography and macro photography.

Kathie's first digital camera was purchased for her website business in 2005, and it quickly replaced her 35mm camera. Convinced that digital was the way to go, Kathie was impressed with the clarity and ease of using a digital camera. Of course, then Kathie discovered Photoshop and other graphics tools. Creating transparencies, using filters to create the look of a painting, these are skills Kathie has learned. Cloning can help when a picture is less than perfect. You can add objects into a photo with the cloning tool.
